Wesley Sneijder, David Villa, Miroslav Klose and Thomas Müller are the contenders to win the golden boot
Wesley Sneijder is the front runner to win the World Cup’s golden shoe, but if Spain beat Germany in the semi-finals then David Villa will remain the favorite to win the prestigious award. No Spanish player has ever won the world cup golden shoe and if David Villa outscores the rest, then the Barcelona striker will be the first Spanish player to win the World Cup golden shoe.
In 2006, Miroslav Klose won the golden shoe when he scored a total of five goals in Germany and he is just one goal away from being the all time top joint goal scorer of all time.
Maradona termed Geman striker Thomas Müller as a “ball boy” but he has scored four times already for Germany and will be the leading contender for the golden shoe as well.
