Miroslav Klose To World Cup Record Of 15 Goals

German International Miroslav Klose could become the highest World Cup goal scorer of all time
 
FIFA World Cup 2002  : Korea-Japan
 
Miroslav Klose ( Mirosław Marian Kloze) made his World Cup debut in 2002 against Saudi Arabia, in which he scored a magnificent hat-trick . In that particular fixture, German thrashed their Asian opponent 8-0 with Klose  scoring in the 20th, 25th and 69th minute respectively.
 
Germany then faced Republic of Ireland and Miroslav Klose  was on target again opening the scoring in the 19th minute but a Robbie Keane late equalizer ensured one point to the Irish.
 
In their third and final group stage encounter, Germany faced African giants Cameroon and Miroslav Klose was on target yet again, as he ensured victory for the German in the 79th minute to make it 2-0.
 
Klose had scored five goals in three matches and all five goals were headed goals. But the German could not add to that tally of five and ended the world cup campaign second highest goal scorer alongside Rivaldo of Brazil.
 
FIFA World Cup 2006: Germany
 
In 2006 Germany were host of the tournament and were placed in Group A alongside Ecuador, Poland and Costa Rica. Klose  continued his World Cup run in scoring two goals against Costa Rica as the German won their opening fixture 4-2.
 
He failed to score against his birth country Poland but scored two goals against Ecuador in a 3-0 German victory.
 
In the quarter-final match against rivals Argentina, Miroslav Klose scored a crucial equalizer to take the match into extra time but was eventually substituted in the 85th minute by Oliver Neuville.
 
So far Miroslav Klose had scored ten goals in the world cup and all ten were headers. Germany were eventually knocked out by World champions Italy in the semi-finals.
 
FIFA World Cup 2010: South Africa
 
Germany were up against Australia in their opening fixture and Miroslav Klose scored yet again in an opening fixture of a World Cup.  He had now scored in every opening fixture for Germany in a World Cup. The 32-year-old forward scored in the 26th minute as Germany cruised past Australia in their opening World cup fixture.
 
Serbia beat Germany in their second fixture and in a must win game against Ghana, Werder Bremen's player Mesut Özil scored the only goal of the match to take Germany in the round of 16.
 
Germany faced arch rivals England in the first knock out round of 16 and thrashed them 4-1 , with Klose opening the scoring in the 20th minute.           
 
Argentina were next and Miroslav Klose scored two goals in that fixture to give the Germans a 4-0 victory. Miroslav Klose had scored a total of 14 goals for Germany in the three World cups he played in and equaled German's Gerd Müller record of 14 goals.
