Spain and Holland face each other in the World Cup finals in South Africa
Spain beat Germany in the semi-finals, who played a similar style of football like FC Barcelona. Now we would have to wait and see if Holland can play negative football to win the World Cup for the first time, just like how José Mourinho ‘s Inter Milan beat Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals to win the competition.
Holland are the creators of “total football” but now manager Bert van Marwijk needs to do something extraordinary and different to beat Spain in the finals.
In the Champions League, Barcelona seemed unbeatable, but Mourinho’s defensive strategy worked against Josep Guardiola’s style of football and resulted in the an Inter victory.
If Holland play their usual style of football that they do, then there is no doubt that Spain might just win this comfortably, but if Holland change their strategy like the way Mourinho did then there is a huge possibility of Holland winning the World Cup for the first time.
