The FIFA World Cup in South Africa has its official football and is called ‘Jabulani’. The word Jabulani’ means rejoice in the Zulu language (24% of the population in South Africa speaks isiZulu).
The ADIDAS Jabulani is being developed in partnership with researchers from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom. A total of eleven different colors were used in the Jabulani, each coor representing the 11 players on the football pitch.
Made In China/India:
The latex bladder used in the ball is made in India but the final product is made in China.
Gold Ball for World Cup Finals:
A gold version of the ball will be introduced on 11th of July during the World Cup finals in the Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg.
